COWES Enterprise College has been judged as 'good' across the board by education watchdog Ofsted.
Inspectors visited the school on September 26 and 27, observing 65 lessons, interviewing students and meeting with school leaders.
Ofsted judged the school good across five key categories: leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare; pupil outcomes; and 16 to 19 study programmes.
In their report, inspectors said: “Pupils make good progress because leaders and teachers have high expectations of them. As a result, most pupils pay attention in lessons and work as hard as they can.
“Teachers ask questions that probe pupils' understanding and require them to explain their thinking. Consequently, pupils gain and consolidate their knowledge and skills well in a range of subjects.
“Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. They wear their uniform with pride and ensure that the school site is free from litter and graffiti.
“Pupils are well prepared for life in modern Britain. They are open-minded, tolerant and reject all forms of discrimination.”
