FRESHWATER Independent Lifeboat was called out to a capsized boat this afternoon (Monday).
The independent lifeboat received the call out from the coastguard after a pleasure boat capsized about a mile offshore.
Another vessel had spotted the boat and rescued the crew, but the capsized boat was a hazard to shipping, so the Spirit of the West Wight III launched to recover the vessel.
Freshwater lifeboat towed the vessel, which was upside-down and almost completely submerged, into Freshwater Bay.
With the help of the launch crew, the boat was righted and pulled onto shore on the public slipway.
