POLICE are hunting a man accused of indecently assaulting a woman in Freshwater.
The victim came face-to-face with the man when he entered her kitchen through the back door of her home, at around 3pm on Friday, October 20.
The woman, in her thirties, told the police he indecently assaulted her by touching her over her clothing, before he left her home.
The woman, who was unhurt, but was left shaken, said she did not recognise the man, but he knew her by name.
She described the man as being white, aged in his early thirties and of slim build with a long, thin face.
The suspect was also around 6ft tall, with brown eyes and wore a hooded top, jeans and a baseball cap.
Police believe the suspect may have made off across the field behind the West Wight Sports and Community Centre.
Investigating officer, DC Adam Gamble, said: "We have been carrying out house to house inquiries, with members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team undertaking regular patrols in the area.
"I would urge anyone who has any concerns to speak to one of these officers or to call us.
"We are following a number of lines of inquiry, including reviewing CCTV where it is available in the area, and preparing an e-fit image, which may help us to identify the suspect.
"The victim did not recognise the man as someone she knew, but we are trying to establish how he may have known her.
"The victim stated she had seen the same man acting suspiciously in the area on Tuesday last week (17), so I would urge anyone who saw him on either day to contact us immediately."
