ISLE of Wight fire and police officers have launched an investigation to determine the cause of a fire in Shanklin.
The fire broke out last night (Monday) at a residential property at Avenue Road.
Firefighters from Shanklin, Sandown and Newport were called to the property shortly after midnight.
A spokesman for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was injured, although one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The first floor of the building suffered 20 per cent fire damage and 100 per cent smoke damage, he said.
Officers will return to the scene today (Tuesday) in a bid to determine how the fire started.
