FOLLOWING hot on the heels of the release of their brand-new album, The Robert Cray Band is embarking on a tour of the UK and Ireland.
The album, Shoulda Been Home, is held up as an example of Robert Cray's skill as a songwriter, lyrical interpreter, guitarist and overall musician, confirming his reputation as a torchbearer for blues-styled Southern soul.
Cray's musical resume reads like a Who's Who in contemporary music. Over the years he has worked with the likes of John Lee Hooker, BB King, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton and Tina Turner and in 1995 Cray and his band were featured as guests of the Rolling Stones on selected European dates.
See him live at the Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, on Monday, July 9, at 8pm. Tickets priced £17.50 and £19.50 are available from the box office on 020 8688 9291.
