A MAN has been left with life threatening injuries after an incident in Shanklin last night (Saturday), Isle of Wight Police have said.
An Isle of Wight Police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 8pm on Saturday July 8 by our colleagues from the ambulance service, after a member of the public reported a man was seriously injured at the Spring Gardens junction with St Paul's Avenue in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.
"The man was subsequently treated for a puncture wound to his chest and has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is described as life threatening, but stable.
"Officers are now carrying out enquiries in the area to establish how the man was injured."
