A MAN'S body has been recovered off the Isle of Wight this afternoon (Wednesday).
Yarmouth RNLI launched at 1.30pm.
After returning to Yarmouth Harbour, the lifeboat was met by police and officers, who cordoned off part of the harbour wall.
"We were called at 1.44pm by the coastguard reporting the discovery of the body of a man in his 40s, approximately 12 miles south east off the Isle of Wight.
"The death is being treated as unexplained.
"Identification procedures are on-going and a file is being prepared for the coroner," said a spokesman.
