Spectacular showers of colour and booming rockets will ensure the biggest and best fireworks night in the south goes with a bang.

The Welling Round Table, with the help of the News Shopper, is making this autumn's annual pyrotechnic show even more glittering for its 28th year.

The theme for the display is 2001 A Space Oddity, and the organisation promises the biggest display of fireworks Danson Park has ever seen.

And as well as the display, there will be a fun fair, stalls and a great stage show.

Round Table spokesman David Harrild said: "On Saturday, November 3, we are expecting up to 30,000 people, so it is important to book tickets in advance."

Tickets can be bought in advance from many agents around Welling, Bexleyheath, Bexley, Sidcup, Eltham, Belvedere, Crayford, Dartford, Erith, Plumstead, Woolwich and Abbey Wood.

Adult tickets cost £3 and child tickets £1.50. You can also pay at the gate on the night where it will cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, so it pays to get your tickets in advance.

Gates will open at 6pm and the display starts at 8pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We have 25 family tickets to give away to creative children and talented teenagers in the News Shopper's cracking firework art competition.

All you have to do is draw, paint or create a picture of fireworks and send them in.

Prizes will be given in five age catagories: under four years, five to seven years, eight to 10 years, 11 to 13 years and 14 to 16 years.

Send your entries to Firework Competition, News Shopper, Mega House, Petts Wood, BR5 1BT, to arrive no later than Friday, October 26.

See the winning pictures in the News Shopper and the best of the rest will appear on www.newsshopper.co.uk
