ONE person suffered minor burns following an oven fire.
Freshwater firefighters were called to an address at Broadway, Totland, shortly before 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday).
A spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was out by the time the fire engine arrived, but firefighters checked the scene was safe.
According to the Friends of Freshwater Fire Station Facebook page, they checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
One person was treated at the scene for minor burns to their hand and mild smoke inhalation.
