April 9, 2001 12:14: THINGS hotted up at Bromley High Junior School when the girls donned their saris for the school's India Day.
Indian parents came to the Bromley school to share their experience with the 48 Year Four girls.
While some of the girls got all wrapped up in the sari wearing lessons, others dipped into the food basket to get a real taste of India.
They were shown the art of Henna tattooing, usually associated with weddings, and dancing, usually associated with having a good time.
The girls curried favour with the Tamasha Restaurant, Widmore Road by polishing off all the food they had brought in for the day.
Teacher Andrea Greenway said the girls had been studying India in geography, art and Religious Education all year and India day was a great way to make it more real.
