TWO teenagers have been hospitalised with serious injuries after their moped collided with a car.
The rider of the moped, a 16-year-old from Arreton, and his pillion passenger, also 16, from Ventnor, were taken to St Mary's Hospital following the crash at Ryde Esplanade last night (Sunday).
One has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital. The other has been admitted to St Mary's Hospital with a broken leg.
The driver of the car, a Citroen, was uninjured.
Three ambulances were sent to the scene at 10.16pm, together with police officers.
An Isle of Wight Police spokeswoman said investigations were ongoing.
