Many metres of tin foil were used to create special effects as Star Wars met Spielberg at a West Wickham junior school on Thursday.
Youngsters dressed up as their favourite science fiction characters at Hawes Down School, Hawes Lane, as part of the international celebration of literature, World Book Day.
A wide range of events were also held across the globe including an internet link-up with famous authors who chatted with Web users about their work.
