BLOOD left at the scene of a Cowes raid is to be analysed by police.
DNA from the broken display window of Number One Fragrance and Accessories and a trail left in Birmingham Road will be studied together with CCTV footage to identify the smash and grab raider.
Owner Kay Read said: "The first I knew that the window had been smashed overnight was when a girl on her way to school this morning (Thursday) very kindly phoned and told me.
"Glass went everywhere in the shop but I cleared up and stayed open because that's the sort of person I am — determined.
"Five pairs of size 5 funky wellies, exclusive to my shop, were taken together with window display dummy boxes of perfume underlining that's just what the thief was - a dummy!"
