SAINSBURY'S garage in Newport was closed last night (Friday) after hoax calls were received telling staff that the petrol station was going to blow-up.
Staff working at the garage in Hunnycross Way received three calls, prompting police to attend the scene at around 9.39pm.
Officers attended and searched the garage but found nothing suspicious.
The garage re-opened this morning (Saturday).
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “We can confirm there was an incident at our petrol filling station in Newport last night.
"We have reopened this morning and are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
