A GLITTERING awards ceremony was held at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday for the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce business awards for excellence, sponsored by the County Press.
The top award was scooped by East Cowes-based environmental engineering company, Vikoma International.
The big names of Isle of Wight business were there for the event hosted by news reader and TV presenter, Fred Dinenage.
Mr Dinenage said: "Our event this evening is a real celebration of all the best in Island business.
"Our nominees show just how diverse the Island's economy is.
"As we all know, the Isle of Wight is a brilliant place to live, work and to do business."
Vikoma International, who won the business of the year award, also won two other awards on the night.
President of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, Geoff Underwood, said: "This business exemplifies so many great things about the Island. They have heritage. They've been based here for decades but they aren't stuck in the past. Far from it.
"Their products are changing and diversifying, with a global reputation for quality. They're exporters and ambassadors for the Island around the world."
The award was presented by the County Press's editor and publisher, Alan Marriott.
The President's Cup for business person of the year went to the Lord Lieutenant, Maj Gen Martin White.
Mr Underwood said: "He's an advisor and an advocate for business. His office is honorary and unpaid. He's no stranger to business awards either - championing the Queen's Awards for Enterprise and Voluntary Service.
"He is, after all, the Queen's representative on the Island."
The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce member of the year award went to Crossprint Media.
Mr Underwood said: "Their team has consistently gone above and beyond - supporting the Chamber's publications, our Expo event and helping to make tonight's event look so good."
