A FORMER speech writer to David Cameron will go up against prominent Isle of Wight Conservatives Bob Seely and Mark Fox to replace Andrew Turner as the party's General Election candidate, the County Press can reveal.
Former Number 10 speech writer Clare Foges, now a Times columnist, joins Isle of Wight Councillor Bob Seely and Island-based chief executive of the national Business Services Organisation Mark Fox on a shortlist that will go before the Isle of Wight Conservative Association.
The full membership is due to choose a replacement for Andrew Turner on Friday.
Mr Turner quit on Friday following an outcry after he was said to have told students at Christ the King College he believed homosexuality was 'dangerous to society.'
