A 43-YEAR-OLD Beckenham woman has mounted a High Court damages claim after being hit by a skip lorry.

Rosemary Blenkinsopp, of The Drive, was left with severe multiple injuries after the accident in February 2000.

She had injuries to her head, face, ribs, back, shoulder, hip and teeth.

Miss Blenkinsopp is suing Gallowfield, the company which employs lorry driver William Harrington.

A writ, issued at London's High Court, says although Miss Blenkinsopp was able to return to work after three months, she has continued to suffer problems from her injuries.

It states after spending four days in intensive care, her recovery was complicated by infections.

Miss Blenkinsopp now suffers from speech difficulties, she cannot lie flat and has scars on her face.

She has also suffered memory and concentration problems, is unfit for heavy manual work and has had to change her job.

She is at risk of getting deep vein thrombosis, may develop obsessive compulsive disorder and is also at risk of developing post traumatic epilepsy, the writ adds.

The accident happened in Old Kent Road, London, on February 21, 2000.
