NICK Percy stormed to an 8th place finish in the final of the World Junior Championships in Barcelona.
The Ryde School pupil, 17, was the youngest in the field for the final yesterday (Thursday), but threw 57.79m to make the third and final round of throwing, for top the top eight athletes.
He was unable to improve on that distance, although he threw over 60m in one foul throw, but it was enough to finish eighth overall.
Gold was won by Jamaican Federick Dacres, who threw a PB distance of 62.80m.
