FIVE Isle of Wight police teams, including armed officers, were called to a village sub post office this afternoon.
Police were called to what was described as an attempted robbery after staff at the St Helens village shop on the Upper Green were threatened.
The shop was closed while officers interviewed staff.

*A police spokesman confirmed today (Wednesday) that the man had been armed with a knife and stole £750.
“We were called to reports of an armed robbery at the post office in St Helens shortly before 4.30pm.
“A man had threatened staff with a knife and stole around £750. No-one was hurt.
“A 44-year-old man from St Helens has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with this investigation and remains in custody at the current time,” said the spokesman.
