Barnet were the worst supported club in English league football in the 1998-99 season, with an average league attendance of 2,107.

Only slightly better was the 2,125 turn-out of Rochdale, while Scarborough, relegated to the Conference, attracted 2, 211.

Cardiff, who finished second, were best supported in Division Three, with an average of 7,131, (an increase of 97. 5 per cent on the 3,610 of the previous season).
