PATIENTS at Queen Elizabeth Hospital can now get extra support and guidance, thanks to the launch of a new service.

The hospital, in Woolwich, launched the Patient Advocacy and Liaison Service (PALS), based in its main foyer, to act as a first port of call for patients and their families to voice concerns or ask for help.

They will be able to get information about the health services available to them and the team will also offer independent and objective advice.

The hospital's director of nursing and quality, Nora Flanagan, said: “Sometimes people don't know where to turn to to get help or advice and PALS can be that first port of call.”

PALS can be contacted Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm. Call 020 8836 4592 or 020 8836 4694 or drop in and see them.
