THE famous Beatles-themed cafe in Cowes is preparing to welcome fans as they flock to hear Sir Paul McCartney, at the IW Festival, on Sunday.
The Octopus’s Garden has just re-opened following a 'hard day’s night’ of building work and now has brand new flooring and a stunning yellow submarine-shaped counter.
To complete the look, the faces of John, Paul, George and Ringo can be seen smiling through the port holes, and customers will enjoy browsing Beatles’ wall posters and other original memorabilia while waiting for their meal to be prepared in its newly refurbished kitchen. Even the toilets feature Yoko and John.
Cafe owner Chris Sanders said: "The Octopus’s Garden is both unique and family-friendly, with a children’s menu and colouring to keep them occupied.
"We like to source fresh local ingredients, such as eggs, and cakes made from Island-milled flour."
The cafe is licensed for beers, wines and spirits.
In honour of the music festival’s distinguished guest, the cafe has brought out a special range of Beatles desserts, such as Iced Lennon Madeira, Strawberry Fields Forever Shortcake and Sergeant Pepper’s Spiced Chocolate Cake.
There will be a discount for customers sporting a festival wrist band.
