A RANGE of clothing inspired by French fashion in the 60s has been launched on the catwalk.

Val Boynton, who runs her shop, Joelle, in Cross Street, Ryde, has designed a range of clothing for children aged between two and nine.

With the help of her friend, Rita, Val has created and manufactured everything on the Island and organised a fashion show at Ryde School’s theatre, to unveil the range.

"I wore this type of clothing as a child and after looking at some old photographs I was inspired to come up with similar designs," said Val, who moved to the Island from France seven years ago.

Pupils from Fiveways and Chale Primary School modelled the clothing, which includes nostalgic and nautical styles.

"They models did brilliantly because it was quite a long day with rehearsals but they all looked lovely," said Val.

The clothes are on sale in Joelle.
