Splatter On Paintball has enjoyed its most successful year to date, according to its founder. The business operates two sites, at Duxmore Farm, near Downend, and woodland at Westover, totalling around ten acres. The business has enjoyed strong support from mainland customers, according to founder Sid Michalski.“About 70 per cent of our business is people coming from the mainland and I am part of a few paintball franchises across the water,” said Sid.“We have a good reputation and I think people like the attitude we have and the way we treat people.“I have 22 years’ experience in the sport and when I set the business up six years ago I thought about what I would want as a customer.“We listen to what people tell us they would like and then we try to do it,” said Sid.Splatter On is behind the popular Vectis Paintball League, which pits teams from the Island against each other every week. It also runs mass battle events, the latest of which took place earlier this month, called Zombies — Battle of the Dead, when participants dressed up as the undead for a large-scale paint fight at Westover.
