Gold from Dragon’s tweet

Michele Geale, whose business has been backed by Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.

Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis has backed an Island business.
Buoys and Girls was founded by Michele Geale last year, specialising in creating home accessories from recycled sails.
Now she has been featured by Mr Paphitis as part of Small Business Sunday, a project promoting small businesses from around the country to around 200,000 Twitter followers.
Buoys and Girls, based in St Helens, was chosen after Michele sent the entrepreneur a Tweet about the business, explaining what they did and inviting him to visit the website.
“The fact he has recognised you and put his name to it is great for business. It’s not like Dragon’s Den, where they give up a lot of money, unfortunately, but it brings a lot of kudos and the traffic for my website went berserk afterwards,” said Michele.
The business had a further boost thanks to Country Life magazine, which recently featured the business.
