A BOOMING grooming business, up for two national awards, has said it hopes to take on more staff.
The IW Dog Grooming Centre has reached the final of the Pet Care Trust Pet Industry Awards 2010 and will discover next month if it has scooped the accolade of Grooming Establishment of the Year.
It has reached the final three businesses up for the team of the year award.
The centre was opened in 2007 by Donna Clinch and within three months it had become so successful she took on an additional groomer. Six months later the business had grown so much it employed five staff.
"The staff regularly attend grooming seminars to keep abreast of all the latest techniques and styles. A favourite of these was a seminar headed by the British dog groomer of the year, Phillip Langdon," said Mrs Clinch, who added several of the team planned to battle for that title later this year.
"We are so proud and excited to have been successful with this shortlisting and are also proud to be putting the Island on the map with this respected national organisation," she added.
Mrs Clinch said they planned to take on extra staff over the summer to cope with the high number of appointments.
