HUNDREDS of people attended an open day for jobs at a refurbished holiday centre and organisers have praised the high calibre of hopefuls.

The open day at Norton Grange Coastal Village last month attracted more than 200 potential candidates for 100 jobs at the Yarmouth centre, owned by Warner Leisure Hotels.

Norton Grange was closed for three months over winter, while a £300,000 refurbishment took place.

Manager Ron Theobold said competition for jobs at the centre, which will be open around nine months a year, was strong.

"The quality of some of the candidates was as impressive as the quantity and we are confident we will be taking on some really good team members," said Mr Theobold.

The centre is due to re-open on March 26.
