STUDENTS are so impressed with a weekly lunchtime treat, they extol the virtues of Pasty Friday Again! on Facebook, urging others follow their excellent eating experience.

Around 30 pupils from Ryde School regularly turn up at the Proper Pasty Company, in Ryde High Street, at lunchtime on Fridays, to choose from 26 varieties of hand-made pasties from Cornwall.

Nikki Hill, who runs the business with her husband Martin, daughter Christi and Christi’s boyfriend Chris Gibbs, says since Good Friday, when they opened, they have built a loyal customer base, especially from the school.

"It is quite a spectacle when they all parade in. Shoppers in Ryde High Street wonder what is going on and we decided to reward them for their loyalty with a ten per cent discount," said Nikki.
