A NEW energy-saving scheme, exclusive to the Island’s leisure and hotel industries, was among highlights at an IW Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry open day.

The event marked the start of the chamber’s centenary year and was held at the chamber offices, in Newport.

There were talks from Bookers wholesalers, Cardnet and Utility Auditing.

There was also an insight into the forthcoming launch of an energy-saving scheme that offers electricity and gas packages to the IW hotel and leisure industry.

The chamber has worked with ENER-G, an international sustainable energy company, to develop the package. It will be launched at a seminar on Thursday, February 18, at Newclose Cricket Ground.

Dean Pascall, general manager of the chamber, said: "We believe this new package, and the advice given at the seminar, will help many to cut their costs and reduce their carbon footprint."

l Places can be booked by contacting the chamber via chamber@iwchamber.co.uk
