POLICE are hunting witnesses to an incident in Erith in which an elderly man died.

Mr Eugene Wilson, a retired 70-year-old of West Street, Erith was involved in an incident outside a newsagent in Fraser Road, near the junction with Alford Road, at approximately 1pm on Sunday, July 22.

The incident involved Mr Wilson, who was black, and a 43-year-old white man.

Mr Wilson received injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday, August 4. A post mortem examination on August 7 at Greenwich Mortuary established the cause of death as a head injury.
