A TRAVEL business has been celebrating after discovering it was rated number one on the Island in its category.
Tripadvisor.co.uk — the world’s biggest travel review site — has given Ralph’s Spa Barn, Watergate Road, Newport, the number one spot in the speciality lodging category.
"We have been going for three years and it has been a lot of work," said Clare Leonty.
"My husband, Delisle, and I have done everything ourselves. We built it up from just a shed really."
Claire turned her attention to the holiday cottage business when the large hikes in silver prices hit her jewellery business, Bone Idol.
"My husband is from the Caribbean and we wanted to give the place that sort of feel. It is very relaxed.
"Guests can pick their own vegetables from the garden or give us a call if they don’t know where to go out for dinner, that sort of thing," she said.
