SOME superb sailing saw the Island team secure 11 wins on the water on Day 6 of the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week regatta.

Cowes Sea Cadets president Adam Gosling and his crew secured a comfortable victory to win the IRC Class 3.

The Yes! finished a comfortable three minutes ahead of the nearest competition and Mr Gosling said his new boat had proved an excellent purchase.

There was an IRC Class 1 win for Michael Greville aboard the Erivale III, with James Gair's Zero II Cowes Race School placing third.

Jo Richards typically picked up another win aboard Woof to win IRC Class 7.

The crew of Artemis 23 again saw success in the Beneteau Figaro 2, with Artemis 37 finishing second.

Rebecca Buchanan picked up first place in the Cruiser Div B with Haggis 2 and Giles Peckham asserted his dominance on the Daring Class with another first place aboard Dauntless.

Martin Payne picked up the win in the Dragon, with Aimee falling down to fifth. But, Mr Graham Bailey's craft did enough to take the win in the Dragon's Corinthian Cup.

The Locks, Lock and Chapman crew aboard Fer De Lance won in the J/70 Class, while Louise Morton led the Quarter Ton's home with two minutes and 30 seconds to spare.

The Snowgoose 2, that can often be seen around the Island's coastline, led the Redwing fleet with the Nainby-Luxmore family crewing.

The winner of the Artemis Challenge was the Phaedo 3, skippered by American Lloyd Thornburg.
