THERE were eight race wins today (Monday) for Island-based boats in Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.
Day three is traditionally when the favourites for the regatta crown begin to emerge, and two Islanders have already put themselves forward.
Graham Bailey's Aimee sits top of the White Group thanks to a third straight win in the Dragon Class.
Aimee's crew finished a hard fought 22 seconds ahead of fellow Islander Martin Payne on Bear.
The leader of the Black Group remains Adam Gosling aboard Yes!
The Yes! crew recorded a third win in the IRC Class 3, finishing a comfortable five seconds ahead of the nearest challenger.
Jo Richards was again successful in the IRC Class 7 aboard Woof. Island-based Mandarin coming not too far behind in third.
There was an all Island top three in the Beneteau Figaro 2, with 2seachange coming first, Artemis 37 in second and Artemis 23 in third.
Giles Peckham and John Corby continued their battle in the Daring Class, the former's Dauntless just about taking the win today.
Peter Morton took first in the Fast 40+, while Island-based Toucan, with Colin and Becky Samuelson and Peter Harvey on board, won the Redwing.
In the Squib racing it was Martin Harrison who recorded the win on board Hussar, while Andrew Porteous and Jerry Westbrook had to settle for third.
Today was UKSA day and tomorrow will be Ladies Day.
