NAZEING, Roydon and Sheering MP Bill Rammell has spoken out against hunting, saying that his New Year resolution is to see the introduction of legislation to ban hunting with dogs.

He said: "I think hunting with dogs is cruel and uncivilised and I want to see it banned. I think it's time for a bill to be launched in Parliament to end the cruelty.

"I know from talking to my constituents, and from my postbag, that people are frustrated that the ban has not yet been implemented and want to see us make progress with it in this new year.

"The overwhelming majority of MPs have repeatedly voted for a ban only to see the legislation blocked in the House of Lords. It's imperative that when we have government time in Parliament over the next year, we introduce a bill and ensure it cannot be stopped by undemocratic tactics."
