THE Young Cricketer of the Year Award for the ECB Southern Premier League has gone to 17-year-old Ben Duggan.
The Hampshire Academy player scored 761 league runs this year, including four centuries and three half centuries in his role as opening batsman.
The left hander is the 35th recipient of the John Millett Memorial Salver and the fourth Island-based young player to win it, following in the footsteps of Ian Hilsum, David Griffiths and Jake George.
He was presented his award by former England captain and second leading all-time test run scorer Graham Gooch.
Ben has played for Island clubs Northwood and Ventnor.
