Wilmington School in Common Lane, Dartford, will be the venue for the event on Saturday which forms part of the Impruve Cycling Scheme and is organised by the British Cycling Federation.

Local organiser Clive Jenns of Team Darenth is inviting all interesting youngsters to come along to a competition which combines all the fun and excitement of cycling and will feature a skills course and a speed trial.

All those involved will receive a certificate and the top three in each category will be invited to take part in a regional final being held in July.

Challenge 2000 aims to introduce youngsters to competitive cycling and the skills course will place the emphasis on bike handling while the speed trial is a short ride against the clock. Combined scores from the two events will produce the overall winners.
