Friday, March 19, 2010

CRICKETSOLENT Middle School have retained the IW Schools Cricket Association indoor six-a-side under-13 trophy, at Cowes High School on Monday.

In the first semi final, they played Christ the King (CTK). Two wickets in the first over from Solent captain Harry Collier set the tone for the match with CTK managing 23 runs.

Solent openers Josh Proctor and Ben Duggan scored the runs without loss off three overs, with Josh being 19 not out.

In the final, Solent played Bishop Lovett, who batted first.

Tight bowling and fielding restricted the Ryde school to 43 off their allotted ten overs. The two Solent openers saw off the total in five overs, with Josh scoring another 19 and Ben scoring 15.

Solent have won the title five times in the last six years.
