League and cup double

CRICKETBEMBRIDGE achieved a league and cup double with a comprehensive victory over Ryde Youth in the final of the Sandrock Services Indoor Cup last weekend.

Youth found themselves four wickets down with just 34 runs on the board at the end of the fifth over. Two of the wickets were captured by Kieron Thompson, who bowled impressively to return figures of 2-15.

Guy Bonnett batted defiantly for his 25 before being dismissed by John Bridge in the penultimate over of the innings. Requiring just 84 to win, Bembridge coasted to victory inside ten overs for the loss of one wicket.

Lee Thompson, who has batted consistently throughout the season for his side, top-scored with 23 not out.
