IW cricketers Hugh Calloway and youngster Ben Duggan provided the Island’s brightest moments in their sun-soaked match with the MCC on Tuesday.
Calloway (53) and Duggan (47) were the pick of the Island’s batsmen in their annual match with the MCC at Northwood, which was played in glorious sunshine.
The IW bowlers, notably Charlie Calloway (2-22) and Louis Payne (2-39), did a decent job, restricting the MCC to 229-10. Among the MCC’s batsmen was Islander and former Ventnor player, Chris Sketchley, who hit 31 not out, while Jamie Benning (31) and David Cranfield-Thompson (30) also scored well.
Only Calloway and Duggan could make notable scores with the bat for Island, who ended with 160.
