AFTER an incredible season on the water, Shanklin-Sandown Rowing Club's Daisy Faithfull will be keeping her fingers crossed for a place in the GB junior rowing squad.

Daisy, who won the national indoor rowing title and two Hampshire and Dorset Championships in the single scull and ladies junior pair event, with her younger sister Emily, continues her relentless quest for improvement.

The 17 year old Sandown Bay Academy student, earned a place on the GB training camp in Laias, with further trials coming thick and fast in the coming weeks.

Daisy, who will be hoping for an international place when selection for the GB team is finalised in the spring, put herself in the spotlight following her brilliant 5km scull in Boston, Lincolnshire, in November, when she caused an upset by beating several girls who had previously rowed internationally.

The GB junior coach, Ade Roberts, said: "After the six days, from our perspective, Daisy had a great camp."
