A NEW live music event, The Butterfly Ball, is coming to the West Wight in May.

The ball will be held at Golden Hill Country Park, Freshwater, just a stone's throw from the legendary 1970 Isle of Wight Festival site, between 4pm and 10pm.

The headline act for the event is Tensheds, a classical trained rock pianist.

Tensheds has enjoyed repeated sell-out shows on the Island over the last seven years winning audiences at the IW Festival and Ventnor Fringe with his audacious showmanship and Rachmaninoff piano skills.

He will be supported by local musicians The Moonshiners, The Herd, Company B, Second Time Around and Between the Boots and Me.

The spectacle is a charity fundraising event for Gift to Nature, who are the Island's local countryside charity.

Gift to Nature own and manage countryside, green space and nature reserves across the Island for everyone to enjoy, for free, all year around but needs support to continue this work.

There will be a licensed bar and food on site. Tickets range from £8-£12 and can be purchased via http://bit.ly/2IBHdqb
