A DOUBLE whammy of events in Ryde — the Isle of Wight Lambretta Day and Ludfest — saw revellers descend on the town over the bank holiday weekend.

Held on Sunday, the IW Lambretta Day saw scooter fans meet at the Riverside Centre, Newport, ahead of a mass ride out to Ryde seafront, where trophies were presented for the sharpest scooters.

Entertainment at the event, hosted by Newport clothes shop Visual Impact, included a bar and barbecue, plus '60s soul, ska and mod DJs and live music into the night.

Over at The King Lud pub, there was a new spin on this year's Ludfest — as well as live music, there were stand up comedy and spoken word performances from a host of talented Island artists.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Trevor Moyce Campaign to help adapt the home of Island firefighter Trevor, who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
