This Sunday, July 29, innovative Seattle-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Eli West will be oozing his understated talent at Quay Arts.

Eli's recent debut solo album, The Both, has seen him take the lead on electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, and pedal steel.

The album focuses on the story of both of Eli’s grandfathers; one a decorated WWII prisoner of war, the other a Brethren preacher and peace advocate.

They couldn’t have differed more, but together they shared a family.

In this spirit, the theme of the album is duality: the first half showcases carefully built arrangements of six American folk songs, the second revisits these as instrumental passages, revealing new sides to the other.

English folk singer, guitarist and songwriter Martin Simpson was recently floored by Eli’s talents, saying, “‘Eli West is an exceptional singer, guitar player and musician, really deep stuff.”

Eli West is truly a sublime musician, and so if you love your music, this should prove a really special treat. The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £12.50.

The Quay Arts evening menu will be available from 5.30pm. Booking is recommended so please call 822490 to reserve a table.
