EVERYONE danced the night away for Seaview's Party on the Prom.

Organised by Nettlestone and Seaview Community Partnership, the event was a huge success and raised a record sum of money.

There was live music and dancing from 6pm until 11pm, with many local acts performing.

The Old Fort put on a barbecue and generously donated the takings to the collection.

The party's grand raffle raised £880 and The Old Fort donated more than £300.

With beautiful weather, the event was the busiest it has ever been, a spokesperson for the partnership said.

Chair of Nettlestone and Seaview Community Partnership, Lynn Stack, said: "It was our best year ever and everyone had a fabulous time."

The partnership raises funds for projects such as planting, Christmas trees and community events.

Its next event will be a summer street fair on Madeira Road, Seaview, on Saturday, August 18, from 10am to 2pm.

The partnership has held street parties in the past, but this is the first year it has held one in the summer.
