IT is not surprising that we now live in a country more dangerous than the United States.
I have found that the government and councils just do not listen to what are simple requests from the public.
Three weeks ago we contacted the council concerning a street light being out.
We live in a cul-de-sac that backs on to waste ground.
There are several pensioners living alone along the road, young children also live in the area.
One would have thought that the council would act quickly with the nights drawing in and safety being the `in word' at the moment, but no.
Perhaps if I had asked for another hanging basket to be put up it would have been done immediately.
