The myth that sheltered housing means the end for independent living for old people is one issue being tackled by officers next week, during

National Sheltered Housing Week from May 22 to 26.

And with a number of vacancies within the Royal Borough, sheltered housing officers are keen to highlight its benefits.

The scheme is open to vulnerable people aged over 60 who are struggling in their own homes and could benefit from some extra support and security.

Events held next week include; general health advice at Roupell House in Florence Road, Kingston from 2pm on Tuesday. For details of other events telephone the sheltered accommodation office on 020 8547 5433.
