Barnet have taken up the two-year-option on manager John Still's contract, but he's also considering an offer from Stevenage Borough.

During Still's three-year spell in charge at Underhill, Barnet have twice reached the play-offs, losing 5-1 on aggregate to Peterborough in the semi-final earlier this month.

Stevenage, managerless after Steve Wignall ended his brief stay by switching to their Conference rivals Doncaster Rovers, contacted Barnet and sought permission to talk to him.

Said Still: 'I know Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace and Bob Makin well. But the situation isn't about money or people. I've been happy at Barnet, but it's the uncertainty about the club's future that worries me, particularly the ground problem. Where are we going? I need to talk about these things with the club.

'So far, we have not been in a position where we needed to sell players, but I don't want to see the team dismantled. A squad has been developed that contains some very good young players, notably Danny Brown, Darren Currie, Frazer Toms, Mark Arber and Marlon King.'

Barnet midfielder John Doolan still wants to return to the north and remains on the transfer list. Steve Barnes, Gary Ansell and John Butterfield have been released.
