THE best of local talent was showcased at Chalkpit Records’ first gig of the year.
Held at Quay Arts, Newport, it was attended by 140 people, who watched sets by Christ the King student Fox Rawding’s recording project Goo Lagoon, Brighton indie rock group Submariner and Island indie four-piece XOCHKA.
Head of the independent label Silas Gregory said: "We are thrilled to see such a change in attitudes for supporting live music on the IW over the past year and we are excited to be bringing the Island more high-quality promotions throughout 2017.
"Our next show is on Saturday, May 13, at Quay Arts, as we mark the end of our first year of live promotions."
Fox, 18, said: "The gig was crazy. I had a lot of fun and got to hang out with some great people. The crowd was ace and the whole event was set up masterfully by Chalkpit."
