I AM researching a Channel Four documentary into the plight of prisoners of war during the First World War.

To help make this programme I urgently wish to contact any surviving British prisoners of war from the 1914-1918 period.

Were you captured on the Western Front during the war? Do you know of anyone still alive who was made a POW?

I am also looking for moving stories from the immediate families of POWs, particularly from wives or children of POWs who can recall the anxiety of not knowing whether a member of the family was dead or alive.

Stories of the long-term effect of life in a camp, particularly of the effect of working down coal or salt mines are of great interest. How did the POW react to his captivity?

What did he look like on his return? Photographs taken within the camps in Germany are also of great interest. If you can help please write to me.
