EXCEPTIONAL bowling from Frank Griffiths was the key to Winchmore Hill's nine-wicket thrashing of Hornsey at the Paulin Ground on Saturday in the Grolsch Middlesex League premier division.

The visitors batted first and were all out for a measly 88, destroyed by seamer Griffiths who finished with figures of 18-10-25-5.

In response, Hill cruised to their target with the loss of just one wicket, David Bowen scoring 31 and Andy Varley an unbeaten 40.

On Sunday, Hill continued their fine start to the season with a win over Brighton & Hove in the second round of the National Cup.

Hill batted first and were all out for 147 then another excellent performance in the field saw Brighton all out for 107 as Hill won by 40 runs.

This Saturday, Hill are back in league action as they travel to Wembley.

Winchmore Hill are holding a Sport 4 All day at their Paulin Ground on May 31. Free coaching in cricket, football, tennis and hockey will be held for boys and girls aged between six and 12.
